Afternoon Loverlies!
My sister in law allowed me to borrow her Nora Roberts book she has called Dark Witch. I have never read Nora Roberts before and to be honest never really cared to until I saw this book cover for Dark Witch. I like the drawing of the house (it looks so cozy). I also LOVED how the pages looked ripped, it gives it an old book type of look. I am really glad I chose this book to be the first I read of her books, there really isn't much smut in this one which makes me happy. I'm not a big fan of smut in books, lol. I thought the story was awesome and I just love fantasy and enjoyed that it took place in Ireland. I have always wanted to go there and Scotland, they are Gorgeous for pictures. :) Maybe someday my hubby and I can go there! I am also going have to read the other books to this trilogy. I had a friend ask me whilst I was reading, who my favorite character was. It was too early into the book to give her an answer at the time, but I got to thinking, I don't really think I have a favorite character except for the animals in the book. I just Love animals and I love how in the story they had connections with the witches. I would love if I could talk with my cats and be able to understand them, that would be awesome. lol I say definitely give this book a try! Have a Blessed Day!
Synopsis from Goodreads:
With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends.
Ireland.
County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations—and where her destiny awaits.
Iona arrives in Ireland with nothing but her Nan’s directions, an unfailingly optimistic attitude, and an innate talent with horses. Not far from the luxurious castle where she is spending a week, she finds her cousins, Branna and Connor O’Dwyer. And since family is family, they invite her into their home and their lives.
When Iona lands a job at the local stables, she meets the owner, Boyle McGrath. Cowboy, pirate, wild tribal horseman, he’s three of her biggest fantasy weaknesses all in one big, bold package.
Iona realizes that here she can make a home for herself—and live her life as she wants, even if that means falling head over heels for Boyle. But nothing is as it seems. An ancient evil has wound its way around Iona’s family tree and must be defeated. Family and friends will fight with each other and for each other to keep the promise of hope—and love—alive…
